Thanks for the reply. I tried the publish both with the report test/survey question interaction option checked and unchecked.
When the report interaction was unchecked, the only variable reported to moodle was 'cmi.core.lesson_status' of 'incomplete' or 'complete'. When the report interaction option was checked, I get the four variables that I mentioned in my original post.
