I am new to Moodle and even newer to Joomla. We have two education sites; one running in Moodle and the other in Joomla. Both hosted on GoDaddy. I am in the midst of preparing to upgrade Moodle from 2.9.2 to 3.1. Moodle upgrade documentation I read stated I should put Moodle into Maintenance Mode. This put my Moodle site into a status where it would be unavailable for all users unless they are admins. While in Maintenance Mode, I had admin access to the Moodle site. Within a few minutes, reports trickled in for our other site running in Joomla where users got a 404 error going to that site. The Joomla administrator can login fine. Immediately, I noticed the coincidence of putting Moodle into Maintenance Mode and the Joomla based site going 404. I put Moodle back into normal mode but the Joomla site remained 404.
Are there shared resources between Moodle and Joomla where putting Moodle into Maintenance Mode would affect Joomla?
