We are running a Moodle site with 10 000+ users and a virtual classroom installation with up to 500 simultaneous users. We are looking for an alternative virtual classroom that can support this number of simultaneous users (divided over a dozen concurrent sessions or more).
We have been looking at BBB now and again and recently it has started to include the functionality we need (recording, breakout rooms, etc.), so now I wonder if there are any users of BBB out there who have installations of similar or bigger size, so that I can ask them about the hardware infrastructure we would require to set up a server that is sufficiently powerful for our needs.
I also have a number of questions about possible functionality (to which I have not yet been able to find the answers on-line):
- Can one BBB server serve virtual classrooms to two Moodle sites if they are in the same Moodle server?
- Does the Moodle integration limit BBB sessions to accept only users authenticated via Moodle, or is it also possible to have people from outside of Moodle access the session (acccess via a link)?
- Will the number of Breakout rooms be flexible (5 seems to few for our class sizes)?
Thanks in advance for any information you can share.
