I think I might have missed something. If the teacher adds their availability to the course calendar, students will be able to see the availability by selecting the course calendar in their calendar view. I gave you another option just in case the teacher wasn't using the Moodle calendar to list their availability. If they are using another program, like Google Calendar, the student will need to subscribe to the teacher's calendar via a URL. The teacher will also have to make that calendar public within their chosen program.
