We've set up a generic staff account to assist students in our various course forums. I created a custom system role (based on Non-Editing Teacher archetype), with the moodle/course:view capability set to allow (View courses without participation). This means that the staff account can access every course, without being enrolled in them.
This all works fine, but the issue I'm encountering is that when a student (or any other user) clicks on the name of the Staff account in a forum, they get the message: "This profile is not available because this user is not enrolled in this course."
I'd really like students to be able to see the profile of this Staff account. I've edited the Authenticated User and Student roles (at the system level) to allow the moodle/user:viewdetails capability. This hasn't had any impact.
Does anyone know if it's possible to achieve this? We're using Moodle 3.1
