I did an internet search and <http://v1.jontangerine.com/silo/php/phpinfo/>; suggested creating a file with
<?php phpinfo(); ?>in it. when I open that file in a web browser it reports under "module authors"

thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. As long as I can I will be sticking with the FreeBSD port. I have too many systems to be individually checking on them all, I rely on them reporting to me when they need updating. So far the FreeBSD porter has been doing quite well so I'm sticking with him also
