Dataform textarea moodle auto-format issue

Dataform textarea moodle auto-format issue

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Moodle 3.1 and now the textarea fields in my dataform activities have all defaulted to "Moodle auto-format".  If I try to change it to HTML format, the change doesn't stick (i.e. when I go back to edit it, it still is in Moodle auto format).

I can edit entries without an issue and the changes stick, just not the text editor format.  I tried editing other elements of my site (labels, assignments, etc) and the atto editor opens normally.  I even tried to create a new entry in the dataform, but the textarea always resets back to moodle-auto format.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Paul

Not sure I follow. Do you have the most recent version of the Dataform (3.0.4)? The text format is a configuration setting in the textarea field. smile

Thanks for the reply, Itamar.  Yes, I have the latest version of Dataform.

The textarea setting must have set itself to "Moodle auto-format" during the upgrade somehow.  Afterwards, I had the dropdown to select the editor type under *every* textarea field in *every entry* of the dataform, however trying to change it in the actual entry didn't work.

So I followed your suggestion and went in the configuration settings and I discovered that it was set to "Moodle auto-format" (which must have happened during the upgrade because previously it was set to HTML).  Setting it back to HTML format fixed it and also got rid of the editor type dropdown list after the textarea fields in the individual entries.

Thanks again for the help!

Paul
