We are considering moving away from Blackboard Collaborate as the new Ultra is lacking many essential features my seasoned teachers rely on daily.
I have watched Big Blue Button (BBB) since 2009 and now seems a good time to jump in.
Question to other admins:
I read I can't have BBB and Moodle installed on same server due to both using port 80. I also read BBB is not best on a virtualized server.
But my situation differs slightly. I use Hyper-V for my virtualized Ubuntu server for Moodle (which BTW is way faster than my virtualized windows Moodle on same server we used past 9 years)
AND I'm hoping I can install BBB on the main server itself (windows though server 2012) but I think I read BBB has to be on ubuntu. Why can't I virtualize another ubuntu server for BBB with it's own port 80 open. ie, what' so wrong with virtualization for BBB? also, can I make BBB work on main server if it's windows and then it's not virtualized and although technically on save server as Moodle it's not because moodle is virtualized and works great. Tested it with BBB already and using their server at blindside it works flawlessly. Perhaps I have to just pay them for hosting BBB.
Thanks for advice,
