Unseen questions across clusters

Unseen questions across clusters

Hi all, I'm trying to accomplish the following:

- A student answers a random question (Question A) in a cluster (Cluster A)

- If correct, he or she is sent to answer Question B in Cluster B1; if incorrect, he or she is sent to answer Question B in Cluster B2

- Etc as per the attached pic

The problem I'm running into is that, because my questions are the same in each cluster (called Q1 - Q4 in the attached pic), they sometimes repeat (e.g., a student may see Q1 in round A and round B). Because I had selected "Unseen question within a cluster" I was not expecting questions to repeat like that. I guess I had assumed that if a question had been seen in one round, it wouldn't be considered unseen in another, but that must not work across clusters. Is there any way for Moodle to note that a question has already been seen in one cluster and thus not select it in another cluster? The reason I ask, of course, is so that it is not necessary to write unique questions for each cluster but rather to leverage the question bank. This is important for efficiency's sake because my lesson has many more branches than in the diagram below. Thanks.
