Apologies if this has already been asked - I cannot find the thread...
I am currently running unit tests for Moodle 2.8.11 on a Linux/MySQL environment, both on an ad hoc basis (as I develop) and automatically after each commit using Husdon continuous integration.
However, I am having severe performance issues and would welcome any pointers from more experienced developers.
I understand that unit testing is a resource-intensive thing and will never be zippy fast. However, running the full suite of test is currently taking multiple hours and this is therefore more or less unusable as a development tool. I have filtered to just self-authored tests for now, but this rather defeats the point..
Any help on speeding things up or thoughts on test strategies would be very very welcome.
