Add an activity or resource link not working

So I have developed a custom theme and added some blocks on moodle as a developer. but now when I want to add a new quiz to my current list of quiz, the Add an activity or resource displays as text instead of link. The link is just not there. Can someone please explain me what may be causing that ? I only see Add an activity or resource as text , not a link. Your help would be so much appreciated. Thanks

Are the theme and the course format you're using updated to the latest version?

Hi Chantal, 


I am also experiencing the same, on the Home Page though. I am on Moodle v3.1. and the theme I am using is setup to accommodate the version. 

Please assist?

Without some sensible information you're unlikely to get an answer.

The most likely thing is some broken Javascript on the page. Have you tried with the Clean theme? Have you disabled or removed any non-core plugins? Have you displayed the page with your browser's JavaScript console switched on?
