Moodle 3.1.1 Help Icons Error

Moodle 3.1.1 Help Icons Error

Hi all

I've just installed my first Moodle and all is going well except...

Moodle 3.1.1 installed on a Windows Server 2012 R2.

Whenever you click on a help icon '?' you get the following error:

Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0

A search of the internet shows a lot of references to this but nothing very helpful.

Any ideas (be gentle, I have about 2 days experience with Moodle so far).

Thanks

I had the same problem after updating to 3.1.1 and it seems the help_ajax.php file was missing.

Open the development toolbar in the browser and check what file is requested when you click on the help icon. In my case I was getting a 404 error and the "Unexpected token" message.

I just copied the file from my backup of the previous version and it seemed to fix the problem.
