Our teachers would like to be able to access user’s course details from the ”Messages”. When they click on a user in Messages they get ”The details of this user are not available to you”. By default you have to be inside a course in order to be able to see your - own - participants’ full profile information, e.g. which courses they are enroled in.
It seems that the permission to view users’ full profiles can only be set at system level for site managers.
Can I define a new teacher role from scratch and give them that capability? Which permissions should I select i addition to those that are default for teachers?
I feel reluctant to create a role based on the archetype of manager since an update might bring along new capabilities that we do not want teachers to have.
I would be really grateful for some advice.
