Hello, We're having Moodle 2.8/Theme Klass.

Q:

1. if i wish to show our catalog in the front, what should i do? our supply already set up the klass theme when we choose not to show it in the front. i thought that if we choose otherwise  it will be easy with a definition. any how how can i control the area for the catalog.

2. Can i add picture to a category (like to course) so it will be visual?

Tnx Denia

Hi,

I am sorry to say we do not support the KLASS theme, or Moodle 2.8.

However, if you only want the category list on the Front page then you will need to alter the frontpage settings...

Administration > Front page settings > Edit settings

and make sure that ONLY Category list is activated.

Hope that helps?

Mary

Hi Denia - Moodle doesn't have category pictures in the way courses have a 'Summary file' that can be used to hold a picture.

What you can do is add an image into the category description, but this will only show where the category description is displayed. There's not (currently) any theme or plugin that I am aware of that displays category images the way a number of themes display course images.

Hi Denia,

The only way you can do this is create Tumbnails using HTML in the Frontpage Site Topic area.

For example | Using this Bootstrap HTML markup:

<ul class="thumbnails">
<li class="span4"><div class="thumbnail">
<img data-src="holder.js/300x200" alt="">
<h3 class="text-center">Thumbnail label</h3>
<p>Thumbnail caption...</p>
</div>
</li>
<li
class="span4"><div class="thumbnail">
<img data-src="holder.js/300x200" alt="">
<h3 class="text-center">Thumbnail label</h3>
<p>Thumbnail caption...</p>
</div>
</li>
<li
class="span4"><div class="thumbnail">
<img data-src="holder.js/300x200" alt="">
<h3 class="text-center">Thumbnail label</h3>
<p>Thumbnail caption...</p>
</div>

</li>
</ul>

You can achive this...see below...

Cheers

Mary

EXAMPLE:

  • cat1

    Category 1

    Moodle Bootstrap is great...

  • cat2

    Category 2

    Moodle Bootstrap is great...

  • cat3

    Category 3

    Moodle Bootstrap is great...
