Hi Tracy,
Surname/Last Name is an easy fix. It is the language pack that you are using. In English (en) the word Surname is used, in English-United States (en us) the term "last name" is used. I believe "English" is the default language for Moodle.
There are other differences scattered throughout like points/marks.
