Scorm: Reporting Attempts

Scorm: Reporting Attempts

Is there any reason why in reports, SCORM will only show 1 attempt irrespective of how many you attempted. So if you completed 3 times, it still only shows 1 attempt. Is this rectified in SCORM settings in Moodle, or is it based on the package that designed the SCORM ie Articulate. It would be good to see results from all attempts, or certainly the top 3.

SCORM is designed to allow multiple re-entries into the same single attempt. It is up to your SCORM package to define when an attempt is finished. Then the SCORM spec states that we need to let the user re-enter the old attempt in "review mode" or allow them to create a new attempt.

Dan and I have had a long discussion about this in another thread (and we agreed to disagree!). It is to do with what moodle counts as an attempt.

Moodle counts each opening of the scorm object as an attempt. Where as captivate (and other authoring tools I believe) count each run through of of the module as an attempt.

For a fuller (and duller) description of this with examples please see https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=206692&parent=1294716
