Once students submit their initial reply in a forum that is set to Q&A type, the expectation is they are able to view posts submitted by other students at that time. However, this availability is postponed by the maxeditingtime value which is 30 minutes by default.
We have pushed it to 1 minute (the shortest time available in the admin interface), but would resally like this to be 0 seconds instead of 60 seconds. I understand that maxeditingtime may be referenced elsewhere in moodle besides just forum posts.
Can anyone describe where else this is being used and what ramifications we should consider when changing it?
Has anyone been successful altering this value to 0 in the database directly? Our initial attempt didn't take hold and reverted back to the previously set value.
