Hello I am a newbie. Just installed the fiesta30 theme and do not know how to insert my own text, images and color choices, etc. I would appreciate any assistance.
I am sorry Fiesta30 does not appear to be a valid Moodle theme, in which case I cannot help you.
I purchased it from Theme Caters. You mean it's no good?
If it's a purchased theme, your first port of call for support should be the theme seller/author as none of us in the community will have access to the code.
Well it cannot be much good if there are no instructions as to how to use it.
When you installed it you would have been shown a page full of settings if the theme had a settings page.
Moodle theme settings are listed on the left sidebar under Site administration > Appearance > Themes at this point you should see a label that says
Fiesta 30 >
or with an icon
Either of which should link to a settings page, if the is one.
That would be your first port of call in a Moodle theme.
Hope this helps?
Also as you are new to the Theme's Forum might I remind you to read the instructions at the top of the page where you added your question? We require two things, you only supplied one. We still do not know which Moodle version you are using, and there are a good many versions still in circulations.
The reason I answered, was because you are a 'Newbie'. However had you asked about one of our many FREE theme I could have given you a better answer.
As for the bought themes we get so many spammers that we are very wary of anyone asking about a theme we have no control over.
You should be pleased that we answered you as we could have ignored it.
Please do not take this personally, it is just we are somewhat antagonistic towards these companies who sell Moodle Themes that are in some ways direct copies of those themes contributed for free in the spirit of Open Source Software.
Therefore, if you don't manage to find the links Mary Evans suggests, then I second the suggestion that you get in touch with the makers of the theme because they should be able and willing to help you with it, being officially recognised Moodle partners.
OK will do, thanks Mary.
Well Mary, if we were told at the start of this discussion that the theme was from a Moodle Partner and not some dodgy sounding theme seller, then I may have been more inclined to help. As it was, we had not clue, and as for searching for a theme that we knew nothing about, and as far as I am concerned, that's as good as playing into dodgy theme sellers hands so they can brag about how many hits they have had.
If our Moodle Partners want to tell the Moodle world about their new themes then they can come and add a link from here. At least we would not need to answer it.
At the end of the day, whatever the name of the theme and whoever made it needs to add some instructions for beginners who know nothing about Moodle or Themes.
TBH Mary (both Marys), I'm not sure it makes any difference if it's from a partner or not. It's a commercially sold theme, we don't have access to such themes in the community without paying for them, so are not in a position to provide anything other than general support and not anything specific to a particular commercial theme. That support should be provided through the reseller/author, whether it is related to technical issues, or usability of the theme.
Also, I don't believe it is OK for Moodle Partners to provide links to their themes in the forum - that still to my mind is unsolicited advertising and I'm not aware of any exclusion to that rule for partners. I really don't want to see the forums start being taken up with advertising just because it's from a Moodle Partner!
If I understand well, now the unnamed "company"' is a moodle partner?
If this is right, then no more comments.
