What if there is no correct answer?

What if there is no correct answer?

Hey all,

I have been working at designing a Moodle course for the last few weeks, and am not able to code in PHP, though I can generally understand what it's doing.

I am up against a major and urgent problem with the quiz module...

What do you do when there is no correct answer, and any answer a participant gives is 100% as long as they fill it out?

Specifically, I am creating a short answer quiz (in form type format) where participants need to be able to answer several questions without having a set response. The answers are particular to their situation, an dhave no need of being graded. The facilitator needs to be able to read their responses to help them through their situation.

Is there another module I should be looking at, or some way to customize the quiz module?

Also, I have several multiple choice quizzes set up where participants evaluate where they are at. Again, none of their responses are worth anthing in terms of marks, it's just that the facilitator really needs to know where they are at.

So, is this possible to do with Moodle? And how can I do it?

It sounds to me as thought the Questionnaire module is what you're looking for. The forum is over at http://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=2642, and you can download it from http://download.moodle.org/download.php/modules/questionnaire.zip

The lesson module might be better since it is core Moodle. You can create essay type questions as well as mutlichoice. Teachers can then grade (review) the answers, give feedback and even email their responses to the student.
