I am new to using Moodle and our company is starting to use it. We are a corporate company and not a school. We have hundreds of internal pages of documentation that deal with different types of software that we use. We are creating courses for teaching that software to employees and need to evaluate their progress.

Moodle 3 is installed and the migration from our Intranet is in progress. Here is my current way of grading:

Currently I grade the employees that took the courses like this:

1 - competent

2 - doing ok

3 - just ok

4 - not doing well at all

I was (am still) using a spread sheet to calculate the grades.

Let's say I have a course that has 5 tutorials that need graded.

This student, Andrew, was marked like this:

Tutorial 1 = 1

Tutorial 2 = 2

Tutorial 3 = 1

Tutorial 4 = 1

Tutorial 5 = 1

The formula I am using is this:

=SUM(G5;G33;G58;G81;G104) which equals a score of 6 for Andrew.

I then use this formula to derive his grade:

=INT(100*(5/6) which gives me a grade of 83 out of 100

If he were to get all "1's" then his grade would have been 100.

Sorry for the long explanation but I wanted to show how I grade currently.

Now for my question:

Is there a why or how would I set up the same type of 4 tiered grades to have the Grade Book calculate grades based on what I am currently doing.

Is that even possible.

Thank you for any input or help that you might have.
