I am long time Moodler, but first time user of the workshop module. I am thinking of moving from using the online assignment where I had students submit their written work three times (without peer review).
The workflow has been that the students make their first submission, and I do quick look to see if they reached a set word count, have followed the formatting instructions and made use of the spell checking feature. I give them a preliminary grade which triggers the completion tracking and restrict access rules I set up to allow them to see a page of common errors for the assignment. Looking at the common errors they then do a rewrite and submit the assignment again. I look at the new submission and give more detailed feedback and at the beginning of the next class they correct their submission using my more detailed feedback.
I found this discussion (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=270877) and I think I should be able to transfer this workflow to the workshop module. I was thinking of using using the number of errors for the first assessment and then possibly the Accumulative grading or a rubric for the 2nd.
I guess my question for the more experienced users of this module is do you think it will work? Are there any points I should watch out for when trying this?
