I am using Moodle 3.0.5 with the current version of the facetoface plugin uploaded here. Been using it with Moodle 3.0 for over six months so far with no issues, except for a cosmetic issue with the session signups that is here: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=312981 (which I fixed by changing a line in one of the source files).
I think the best course of action, however, is to use the STABLE branch from this fork of the plugin: https://github.com/unikent/moodle-mod_facetoface/tree/STABLE
It comes from the University of Kent Github repository, and judging from the commits it looks like they have fixed several other issues with the plugin and Moodle 3.0.
