We think Moodle and Mahara is an awesome combination and our use cases continue to grow. One such use case is for student presentations to the class.
The teacher adds an Assignment in Moodle which uses the Mahara plugin to allow students to turn in Mahara Portfolio pages for grading in Moodle.
Students create their visual aids for the classroom presentation using Mahara and bringing in all their resources needed. When complete, the student submits the page in Moodle and it is locked from further editing.
On presentation day, the student presents using their Mahara Portfolio page and the wise teacher uses a rubric to quickly grade the student during the presentation. Clicking the elements of the rubric as the student is presenting is super easy. Before the student can logoff and sit down they have a grade from the teacher!
