Moodle disconnects during chat

One of our learners has reported that when they are busy with a chat, if they move to another tab/folder in the browser, it drops your connection in the chat. So they are not able to use the internet while they are busy with a chat.

Has anyone experienced this or maybe knows what the problem could be?

Rule out its not a user or PC issue. Have them perform the same steps with a different PC. Try to reproduce the error yourself logged in as them on Moodle.

You have a couple of trouble spots:
- you are in a transition from a Moodle specialist to your own https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=327851
- as stated there you "don't have internal IT support"
- so far your provider has done the Moodle admin work, you find "the site administration role very complex" https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=241983.

The question is, who will bell the cat (track the cause of the problem)? You seem to expect the helpers here to do that, which is impossible even if they wanted.
