Try SELECT DISTINCT - that should filter it down to one entry per user.

Excellent! It actually is a fairly common problem. I had to use SELECT DISTINCT in my enrollment/group membership query. I never did figure out why it pulled multiple entries but the distinct part worked like a charm!
