I am attempting to move a course from a Moodle v2.8 server to our new Moodle v3.0 server.  We are running on Windows.  I get the following error:

Any suggestions on how I can move and restore this course??

Thanks!

In follow up, I turned on debugging and retrieved this information:

Debug info:

Hello Jason, hello everybody,

I have the same error, restoring from the same version to Moodle 3, too... I've found some older messages and bug reports concerning that error when restoring from a 1.xx version to a 2.xx version (this for instance).

Would anybody know what the problem is ?

Jason, have you benn able to solve it ?

Thank you very much for any help!

Ulrike

Hallo again,

In my case, it was apparently a corrupted mbz file.

When I downloaded the backup file again, I saw it had not the same size, and then restoring it worked (even if after that, I had some other trouble, Moodle telling me that a conflict would be created by restoring an admin role - I soppose there is no relation but well I still mention it here).

Best wishes, I hope you can resolve your problem the same way

Ulrike

This worked for me. Open the .mbz with Winrar and save it as fixed copy
