Hi, I'm using the option to download all submissions files to download my students assignments.
I then comment on them and upload them back to my students using the uploading multiple file feedback options
The downloaded files used to be in the format of
user name_assignmentid_"assignsubmission_file"_user file name
and if I uploaded them back in the same name each student got back his own file
However something has changed, my download now come in a different format:
userid_username_submissionid_someotherlongid(not sure which)
with out the words "assignsubmission_file" and without the actual submitted file name
after I finished checking thos files - I tried to upload them back to moodle - but it didnt work - it says there is nothing to update
plus - if I download the grading worksheed for the assignment - I receive an empty file
Im not sure which moodle version is it, as I am a TA. and not a sysadmin
does someone now what caused this and how to overcome this?
Moodle update maybe? you are probably best asking your System admin before this forum as they will be able to let you know of any system changes and then if still stuck update this post with the changes that have been made and maybe someone will have a solution for you.
You can figure out your version by finding a page with "Moodle Docs for this page" at the bottom. Mouse over the link. You'll see something like "https://docs.moodle.org/29/en/Using_Assignment" The number after .org/ is your version.
For 2.9, "Each file in the zip will include the student first and lastname at the beginning of the filename for identification purposes. Note - the files will have a Moodle unique identifier appended to the name, not your institutional student ID number."
In my 2.9, I'm seeing LASTNAME FIRSTNAME_9443_assignsubmission_file_FILENAME So, maybe you're on 3.0? But the 3.0 documentation doesn't say anything about a file change.
You might better ask this question in the Assignment forum. Perhaps Mary will move it for you?
