Time limited enrolment

Time limited enrolment

Can anybody help me solve this problem?

I currently have users enrolled in cohorts which are attached to various teaching categories. The cohorts are managed (manually) so that when a course is finished for a group of students we simply remove the cohort from the category. This way we can keep the same course year in year out and change the student groups as necessary

So far so good but now we need to initiate a "revision" category which some - but not all - students need to have time limited access to. This will allow some students to look at revision material prior to an exam.

Because of the nature of the exams and revision periods it is not possible to lump all revision students into a (different) cohort and attach it to the revision courses

So the question is: Is there a way of giving individuals time limited access to some courses? This has to bear in mind that those same students will also be in one or more cohorts and we don't want to remove them when they get timed out in the revision course!

Is this being too complex? Is there a better way to organise?

Any help would be very gratefully received

Many thanks

Tim

Hi Tim,

Sounds pretty complicated. Have you tried using the Course Duration option in the course settings? It basically allows students to remain enrolled in a course for a specific duration. It can be anything from a few seconds to many weeks.

You'll find the option in your course's self-enrolment and manual enrolment settings.

Hope you find this useful.

Best regards,

Michael
