Open courses (no enrollment required)

Managing subscriptions is absolutely killing me.

How do I make it so that a user has to log-in to Moodle, but then there are a selection of courses they can just go into (no password or enrollment or anything) and download files? Guest access appears to allow non-authenticated users into the course. I want the users to be authenticated, but not have to enrol in the courses.

In other words, how do I turn courses into basic, free-for-all file-sharing 'areas'?

Dave,

In your courses, set up a self enrollment with no enrollment key.  The first time your users go into the course, it will tell them they can enroll, but there is no enrollment key, they just click enrol me.  Then they are enrolled from then on.  They can get back into the course without problem.

Hope that helps.
