Shuffling a subset of questions

Shuffling a subset of questions

Hi everyone

One of our academics wants to deliver a quiz whereby the questions are presented to students in such a way that they are grouped by topic (using Moodle 2.8).

Obviously this can be done, however he's enquiring whether the questions can be shuffled within each topic  - as far as I can see, the quiz shuffle function applies to the entire quiz - in which case, questions would be presented to students in a random order - regardless of the topic (or question bank category) that they belong to.

The only way I can think to do this is if to ignore the shuffle feature altogether and use random questions from specific categories in his question bank instead - is that how others would do this, or is there another way that I'm not aware of?

Thanks!

Lisa

That feature is available exactly as you ask for it in Moodle 2.9.

In Moodle 2.8, you need to use the work-around you suggest, using random questions.
