Instructors cannot attempt quizzes. Theyn can only preview them. Prevews are not real attempts, and may get deleted at any time, for example any time the quiz is edited.
When this happens, it should not get logged as an attempt_deleted event. That is a but, which I have just filed as MDL-52014.
