Thanks for the comment. I added the following the 2.8 and 2.9 MoodleDocs:
- Enter the number of entries to show to the user looking at the glossary activity. For example, the teacher may want to display one definition at a time to a student. The default is 10 entries.
You probably have long since figure out this is not going to help you with your desired outcome. I can edit MoodleDocs but don't know how to get glossary to do what you want in a specific course or glossary contexts.
