Need Clarification about "Entryies Shown Per Page" in Docs

I was looking for a way to control the frequency in which a term appears on a page in Moodle 2.8  (without going the Admin "common filter settings" route).

ie: I'd like the word Theme only to display the glossary link the first time it is displayed, and not every time. But I don't want this a sitewide setting.

I'm looking at the Glossary Docs and there is "Entries shown per page" under Appearance. Moodle Docs says"

"Decide here how many entries to show per page."  Can someone clarify what this means?

Thanks

Hi John,
Thanks for the comment.  I added the following the 2.8 and 2.9 MoodleDocs:

  • Enter the number of entries to show to the user looking at the glossary activity.  For example, the teacher may want to display one definition at a time to a student.  The default is 10 entries.

You probably have long since figure out this is not going to help you with your desired outcome. I can edit MoodleDocs but don't know how to get glossary to do what you want in a specific course or glossary contexts.
