Problem with Dropdown list and radio button questions in only one context - when the option choices are numbers, and when those responses are being viewed on a spreadsheet after export.
Results from such questions appear as "time" type data. So if, for example, a dropdown list has choices 2,3,4,5,6 the spreadsheet will produce:
- 01:02
- 02:03
- 03:04
- 04:05
- 05:06
These appear to be interpreted by Excel as hours and minutes.
I do not mind the format above, but when I try to use search and replace to change say, 02:03, to plain 3, Excel refuses. I have to use =MINUTES() just to get rid of the question numbers (ie the hours). Very frustrating for teachers trying to interpret the spreadsheet.
Moodle's own graphics look fine, the problem is with the spreadsheet and I only encounter it when responses to questions are numerical. If I export the data without question numbers all dropdown / radio table cells go to zero.
