you might need to wait until we push that fix through to the main release. Any changes to Javascript files also require that you clear the moodle cache as well.
I'll try to get to that bug later this week.

To share what have been happening here. 
I have made my own navigation buttons using Javascript, which is a good move and fast solution at that time, but since then I was not able to make the above checkboxes tick while they are browsed.
Still geeking it!
