We We are using Moodle v2.8 and not using AD/LDAP for authentication

o   How can we set the Password Rotation frequency e.g. user must change password say after 60 days?

§  Will the user get prompts to change beforehand?

§  What happens if  password not changed after this period has elapsed? Is the account locked?

o   Can the Reset password time be changed from the default 4 hours when a user clicks on the Forgotten password link?

o   What options are there to limit the number of login attempts before the account is locked?

Hi Pat,

As far as I know, it's not possible in standard Moodle to set a password rotation frequency.

The maximum time to validate a password request is 30 minutes by default (I'm not sure where you got 4 hours from?) It can be changed in Administration > Site administration > Security > Site policies.

You can also set the number of failed login attempts that result in account lockout in Site policies.
