Lots of interesting and well informed things said so far, but I am somewhat skeptical of claims that tell us how good computers are in education. Computers are tools, and need to be used as such. Students can use computers to inform their education, not become so proficient at using computers that they learn nothing else. I don't wish to be seen as a Luddite, but I do suggest we should be sure that we are using technology appropriately. I am not sure if that's what we are really doing.
Do computers in schools help students learn?
