Static Students Column in Moodle 2.9 Gradebook

Static Students Column in Moodle 2.9 Gradebook

We upgraded from Moodle 2.7 to 2.9 and lost the frozen, static students column, wherein the column displaying the students' names used to remain fixed when scrolling horizontally through the multiple assignments in the gradebook.  Without this feature, it's quite difficult to grade.  Does anyone know how to fix this and freeze the column so it remains while scrolling horizontally?

Note: we are using the Moodle theme Sky High.  I'm not sure if this is a 2.9 issue or a theme problem.

Would also like to know this. I cannot find it either! Has it been removed?

Hello both. If you are using the Clean theme then the students column should stay where it is anyway -please look at the section 'Scrolling through the gradebook' (direct link) in the documentation. However, some themes have some issues with this working - it might be that your theme is an older or customised one.  Please see also: https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Theme_upgrade_notes#Overflowing

Jared,

It's definitely a theme issue (you can confirm this by temporarily changing the course theme to Clean). But why not just use the Single  view in the Grader report? -- it's brilliant!  You can choose the grade item and then easily tab through the list of students entering a grade for each one. Entering feedback at the same time is easy too. It's a much less cluttered interface than the regular Grader report with Editing on.
