In Moodle 2.9 I have Completion tracking enabled under Site admin
But in my courses in activities I do not see "activity completion" anywhere
I have spent at least 2 hours going through all the setting and can not find anything else related. Everything else is running smoothly, but I am considering a drastic measure, going into maintenance mode and reloading 2.9, I cant figure why it will not show up in my activities settings.
Go into your course and in Course administration > Edit settings, check you have Completion tracking enabled, as it mentions in the documentation on Activity completion settings linked to here (see the section 'Required course settings')
Thank you for your reply. Yes it was enabled, I included a pic of that, but it does show up as completion tracking in activities settings. I also included a picture of that.
This morning I am trying a update of this weeks latest version of moodle 2.9 to see if that helps. I am stumped.
Thank you for the pictures and helping me get to the bottom of this. I know the difference between site admin and course, I am looking for the course setting and they do not seem to be anywhere.
What is the pathway you take to get to the course activity completion?
I was expecting it in Course Admin> Edit settings or at the bottom of all the setting for an activity or resource.
I did completely update to 2.9.1+ and still no course setting to be found
The path you described is what I am expecting to find at the bottom of this page which is Admin/Course Admin/Edit Settings. But it is not there. That is what is stumping me and has me looking through all the plugins and settings. It will not appear at the bottom of this page as I would expect.
I think it is larger problem, but maybe there is something I am overlooking that will make activity completion appear at the bottom of the Course edit settings page.
You should see it in an expandable section of its own between the section on Files and uploads and the Section on Guest access. It should be called 'Completion tracking'
So - go back to the Site administration settings and check them. Go to Site administration > Advanced Features and scroll down to near the bottom and ensure you have Enable completion tracking ticked/checked.

In Site Admin>Advanced features, I was not clicking into Advanced features. Instead I was clicking into course default settings below. Actually going into Advanced features, did it. Wow, what I relief. A big thank you to you and Emma.
I have the same problem. I enabled completion tracking already in the course default tracking. Then I went back to edit my activities and the function still did not appear so I could not set the activity completion. What are the other ways I can do?
