We have recently begun using Moodle 2.8.5+ to host a variety of SCORM "Single Activity Packages". We installed Moodle on a WAMP machine running Windows 2008 R2. Were able to get the packages installed and running fine but we ran into an issue. We decided to introduce our new learning environment during an open-house training session with roughly 7 users. All users were able to log in, using IE 11 and begin the activity, however we found after a few minutes Moodle would lock up and users had to restart browsers to keep it going. After a few unsuccessful restarts we went back to testing. It appears that this only happens when multiple users (5 or more) are logged into the site running the same activity at the same time.
Individually, users can go through the sessions with no problem, completion tracking and other feature appear to be working normally. We tested using Firefox, Chrome and IE with the same results. CPU usage never goes above 15% and we've added another core to the server. We've had a couple of admins look into this issue with no luck.
Was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue and if any solutions (configuration setting, install procedures) have been found that seem to work? I would be happy to dig into the weeds with anyone to try and resolve this "performance" issue.
This frustrated user appreciates any help he can get.
