Hi Steve. Yeah, Email seems so last decade. But believe it or not, Email is the best way for my teachers to communicate with their students, thanks to the module Quickmail that I installed on my Moodle site. I was given a strict requirement that the Teacher should not have direct access to students' Emails. For privacy reasons I think. So I disabled the email from being displayed in the Participants list. I also fixed the select to "hide my emails from others" in the students' edit profile page. Quickmail fits the bill because the teacher can quickly send emails to groups of students in pronto time without knowing their email address. Of course if the student replied then the teacher would know the student's email address. Email. So last decade, yet still so relevant for me.
