I'm new to Moodle and I have two SunFire servers:
- 4GB RAM
- 2 CPUs (AMD 256 64bit)
- 30GB Disk Space
- Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Desktop w/LAMP)
- 16GB RAM
- 2 CPUs (UltraSPARC T1 64bit)
- 1.2TB Disk Space
- Solaris 11 Server OS
I'm not sure how or what would be the best way to setup Moodle with my servers.
We want to provide Moodle to some of our local schools (who don't have the funds or technicians).
I do not know if one instance of Moodle can support multiple schools ???
I have thought using the x4100 as a web server supporting Moodle and the T2000 as the MySQL server.
I would rather not run everything on the x4100 due to low memory and disk space.
I can use the T2000 to create VMs and run different instances of Moodle (per school),
but I cannot figure out how to create a VM for Ubuntu on the T2000, or install Moodle on Soalris.
I am open to suggestion on what the best setup for one or both servers would be
