It seems to be a strange error, really !!
Have you tried to backup your original course again, move it to its new location and restore it again ? Perhaps an error in the backup or in the "transmission" could be the root cause of your problem ?
Anyway, if you can do it, I think that if you send me your backup file (privately, of course), I could make some tests in my local server to see what is happening...
