Hello Moodle fellows
I have a general question about upgrades. It is my first try with the latest release (moodle_152) and setting it up was without any trouble.
Now, I saw that in the download section, there is also a Moodle version 1.5.2 called latest stable version, with everyday updates. Do I need to upgrade to this one? If so, just follow the upgrade instructions?
Thanks for any suggestions.
My feelings about any updates to software is only do it when a problem arises. If your Moodle (or any software) does what you want, the only updates you need to apply are those relating to security. As you progress with Moodle, you may try to use a function that doesn't work correctly. If the release notes refer to a fix for your problem, update.
Some major updates (1.5x to 1.6.0) should be tested on a local server before updating a live system.
Updating for updating sake serves no purpose.
