I am testing the create new account for self enrollment. I received the attached error msg..
(I have no idea what values need to be correctly set. I am very new to editing php files etc., so step by step instructions would be helpful. I can do it, just need the values.)

Also, I should note that the user I created does not appear in the Enrolled Users table.
I found this from the Documentation:
The error message 'Tried to send you an email but failed!' is most likely due to an incorrect SMTP server configuration.
What is the correct SMTP configuration parameters?

Note: I am able to send/receive emails (from Gmail and Outlook) to the email accounts I have on the server.
This is an SMTP error.
Just discovered one of our Moodles is experiencing this issue also. Will look into it and report any findings back.
