Using PHET SIMS in Quiz

Using PHET SIMS in Quiz

Greetings - we are currently in Moodle 2.7 and I am working with the Chemistry faculty in providing additional practice in key concepts.  We are looking at the SIMS provided by PHET HTML5 versions. I am using the embed code in the Moodle Quiz but all I get is the frame. We would like to student to engage with the SIM and then answer questions regarding the experience. We would like to have the SIM be accessed and manipulated in Moodle. I have tried to embed the code provided on the PHET website for the HTML 5 SIMS - but as I mentioned all I get is the frame with no SIM.

As always thank you for your help.

Sincerely, Nancy K. - Khalifa University Abu Dhabi, UAE

I just tried this (with the balancing act SIM).

At first it did not work, because my test Moodle site is running on https, and the embed code has http://, so it gets blocked by browser security settings.

However, editing the URL in the embed code to be https, then it worked.

Tim thank you so much for this "easy to do" answer. I did get it to work and I went into the embed code and added an "s" to the http - that brought it up quicker - in IE I still get a query regarding "Only secure content is displayed" - I then have to click on Display Content to see the Sim and play the sim. I have closed Moodle and opened it and I still have to click Display Content.  I added the "s" to only one http - I am missing something?

Again I do thank you for your help - Nancy K.

What browser are you using? When you open the page is there anything that pops up in the address bar that might require you to allow it? I tested on 2.6 & 2.9 and they work as expected. If that's not your issue then perhaps it's a site setting to look at?

But the error is in the server (2.6.1 (Build: 20140113) when I try to save a page where I pasted the balancing act simulation HTML5 code from http://phet.colorado.edu/en/get-phet/one-at-a-time , and the debug info is:
