Besides the MUC and Wincache, memcahed, etc
Does any one have any advice on setting the localcachedir and cachedir in the moodle config file.
As I understand it, with a cluster one should set the localcachedir to be not shared so can be set up on each server such as C:/moodle/localcache - and this should not be shared or replicated
And then the cachedir needs to be shared between web nodes? I am right in thinking that this is shared in the moodle-data folder by default anyway? and would the fact that we actually replicated the moodle-data folder across our cluster matter. We have 3 x web nodes, with 3 x moodle-data folders which are replicated using DFSR. Which apart from the extra disc spaces this config seems to work
Also can someone elaborate on the tempdir and cachedir as below:
// $CFG->tempdir = '/var/www/moodle/temp'; // Files used during one HTTP request only.
// $CFG->cachedir = '/var/www/moodle/cache'; // Directory MUST BE SHARED by all cluster nodes, locking required.
// $CFG->localcachedir = '/var/local/cache'; // Intended for local node caching.
does the cachedir get written to the moodle-data folder? and I assume this needs to be shared so should be left commented out if we require this to remain in the Moodle-data folder?
does the tempdir get wriiten to the moodle-data folder? and does this require sharing or not? Becuase if it doesnt would it be best to be local on each node
