I'm a secondary teacher new to moodle and just getting myself set up. I'm looking into the idea of getting my students to do collaborative homework sessions under my supervision at set times in the evening. To really get the collaborative learning thing going, I want to be able to set up moodle so that the resources and activities they click on from the topic outline do not open up on a new screen, but as a frame (or table cell, or whatever) within a page that has a chat module as a block on one side. I want to be able to keep this chat block visible at all times whilst the students are logged in and also to be able to control access to it using the groups function. Ideally, I would be able to have a teacher interface page, perhaps with 2 or more chat blocks - one for each current group, and a student interface.
Any thoughts on how possible this currently is/will be?
