Reviewing the installation plugins page ( /admin/tool/installaddon/index.php ) I found very hard to decide the correct option for the "Plugin type" parameter.

I could understand that I as administrator have the responsability to know what I´ll install on my moodle and select the correct place for do it. But is the author of the plugin who know better than anyone where should be installed his code for it works correctly.

In order to get an easy installation I suggest the inclusion of a manifest.xml (or something similar) where the author of the plugin could describe his plugin better. Things like name, description, author info, and other useful parameters like "Plugin type" that could be used for the installator script to decide where is the correct place to install the plugin into moodle.
