limit email-registration

Hi all,

for a particular project within a university we want to establish

a moodle platform. We want to provide a list of email address.

Only emails on the list should be able to register.

That is because we want to exclude students after a

period of time (say 1 or 2 terms).

Can you tell how to achieve that ? Plugins ?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best Regards,

Sonja

Some authentication methods have an option to not allow users creating new accounts. You have to pre-create them, of course. Otherwise, you can take one of the existing authentication plugins and create own version meeting your requirements.

What do you mean? People can go through e-mail based registration but only those in a list will be accepted? Then you have a list of e-mail. Why don't you pre-register them? See https://docs.moodle.org/en/Upload_users.

P.S.: Unless you want to write your own authentication method, this topic belongs to the forum Authentication at https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=42.

Site administration > Manage authentication > Allowed email domains ??

However, it sounds like you are talking about controlling specific users, so you shouldn't really be using self-enrolment in the first place.
